A Big Thank You....

Everyday I sit here scouring the net for the best deals for you and your families and I TRY to find the best ways for you to save money. I have no spouse or children so for me, this is a game to see how much I can get for free or next to it. I have more stuff in my apartment and storage room to last me a while. But when I find a particularly great deal and have access to a bunch of coupons....I donate it. I can't turn away from free when there are people out there much worse off than I am. A few months back, I donated 40 packs of Oscar Meyer hot dogs, 40 bottles Kraft BBQ Sauce, 35 of the big jars of Miracle Whip and Mayo, and probably 50 bottles Kraft Salad Dressing to Parish Kitchen. I'd say I was out of pocket $6.00 for all of it.

Today I want to purposely thank the wonderful people over at General Mills who later today are giving me A LOT of cereal to take to Parish Kitchen. When I had recently mentioned to a friend that I donate to them....I got an email the next day offering 5 cases of cereal to give. That's a big deal to me....

I have been there and have seen the lines of people waiting for meals. The line seems to get longer and longer everytime I go. I can't do much....but try to help when I can. If you ever have anything to donate...let me know...I will get it there.

So thanks again General Mills!!!! Places such as Parish Kitchen and The Brighton Center couldn't stay open and help others without help from people like you!!!!

  1. Kudos to you and to General Mills! Anyone that shops like we do, knows you get grocery and personal care items all the time for free (or close to) and it's a shame to not make some good come from that.

One class, a woman said that she does not buy Colgate b/c they are a Crest family. She said that she always tosses those coupons. WHY? I told her that the amount of FREE toothpaste should could pick up and donate is out of control. Just because you won't use it, doesn't mean that others won't either. THEY WILL! Donate! KUDOS to you Beth!

  2. That is awesome! Bless you for thinking of others. I'm working with a shelter that helps provide housing to people to keep them off the streets. I will be starting to teach couponing classes to some of the individuals who are low-income. I've already been donating items there I've gotten for free or very cheap, and they're all very excited to learn how to stretch the little money they have.
