New Forums at Deal Seeking Mom

Tara over at Deal Seeking Mom is always so much help to me that I thought I would return the favor by announcing her new Forums...read below and go check her out!!!

deal-seeking-mom-forum-banner3

I am so excited to announce the official launch of the Deal Seeking Mom Forums!

My hope is that the forums will be a growing and vibrant community where we can share lots more deals, freebies and tips as well as build friendships. It’ll also be a place for:

  • Even more great giveaways
  • Promoting your blog in your forum signature (and sharing blogging tips in the special blogging forum)
  • Finding exclusive Deal Seeking Mom coupon codes

As part of the forum launch this week, we’ll have new giveaways every day. Although you can browse the forums without registering, you’ll have to join in order to post and enter the giveaways, so be sure to register today!

To celebrate, we have partnered with Crocs to give TEN (yes, TEN!) readers a certificate for one pair of Crocs worth up to $50*!

My kids LOVE their Crocs! They are perfect for us because even my two year old can put them on herself, and the kids are often alternating between playing in the water outside and playing on the jungle gym, and they work equally well for both. And if they get a little muddy? You just hose them off and they’re ready to go again!

For those of us who can’t get enough Crocs, be sure to check out the official Crocs blog, Flickr group and Twitter account!

You have five chances to enter this amazing giveaway:

1. Join the forums and share your favorite Crocs style in the Crocs giveaway thread.

2. Join Crocs’ Facebook Group and on their Wall, write “Deal Seeking Moms love Crocs too!”

3. Share this tweet from your Twitter account: “@DealSeekingMom has partnered with Crocs to give away 10 pairs of Crocs to celebrate the new Deal Seeking Mom Forums #dsmforums”

4. Sign up for the Crocs’ newsletter (for specials, weekly deals, sneak peeks and product announcements) and leave a comment here that you signed up.

5. Post about the forum launch and Crocs giveaway on your blog. Be sure to link to this post so that I can track the trackbacks and enter you in the giveaway.

The giveaway will be open through Saturday, May 2nd at 11:59 EST. Two winners will be chosen from each method of entry on Sunday. Good luck!

Free Healthcare visits at Walgreens for the Unemployed

Walgreens is offering FREE Healthcare visits to the unemployed in their Take Care Clinics. This is something new they are just starting, and Walgreens has no idea what the response will be. I think they may be in for a bombardment of visits.
Requirements:
You must have become unemployed after March 30th.
You don’t have health insurance.
You must have visited one of their clinics before you became unemployed (make a visit now if you know you may become unemployed soon).
Clark Howard says their clinics are like a “nurse in a box.” They show you all your costs up front, so you know what you are paying for. Visits are normally $59.
See more on this HERE. To find a location near you, go HERE.

Five Dollar Dinners

My friend, Heather, over at www.littlemissknowitall.com has introduced me to Erin at Five Dollar Dinners.com. Erin has some GREAT ideas for some wholesome, filling dinners on the cheap!!! Read below and please check out both of them at their sites....

How much do you spend on dinner each night? Do you feel like you’re doing well if you keep it under $10?
Let me introduce you to Erin, owner of 5dollardinners.com. Erin decided last year to see if she could make dinner every night for under $5–and now has a successful website sharing her recipes and tricks! You may have seen her on Rachel Ray today sharing her tips.
I’ve found her to be an invaluable resource for my Dieting on a Dime series. We’ve been challenged to eat healthy for only $10 a day. Her recipes have made a big difference for us!
I suggest you check out her site. Many of her recipes will work well with our stockpiling techniques!
Right now I’m cooking one of my favorite frugal meals–chicken with pancetta, apples and baby bellas.
Chop pancetta (bought on sale for $1.49) and heat over medium heat. Add package of sliced baby bellas. ($1 at Meijer last week.) Add 1 chopped apple (.25) and 4 chicken breasts ($2 after discount). Saute till fully cooked. I added 1/2 can evaporated milk to the mixture for a ’sauce’ (free after coupon) and served with a rice/broccoli

Keep your pets safe for FREE!!

Order a complimentary pet safety pack from the ASPCA—it includes a window decal (to tell rescue workers how many and what kinds of pets are inside your home), and also an ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center magnet. The magnet lists the center’s toll-free emergency number and Web site. Sign up for the pack here.

Free Glade Soy Candles at Walgreens

If you didn’t have a chance to print your coupon for $4/1 Glade’s Fragance Collection Soy candles last month I have GREAT NEWS for you! The coupon is available again! At Walgreens the 4.9oz candles are regularly priced $5.99. Use the $4/1 printable manufacturer coupon and the $2/1 Walgreens store coupon on page 21 of the Easysaver catalog to get them FREE. Always remember to hand your manufacturer coupon first and then the Walgreens coupon. The ESR coupon expires on 4/25, so act quickly!

Great Printable Coupons

No Angel Soft coupon????

I bought my 10 papers this morning and went straight to Kroger to get free toilet paper. It would seem, however, that the Greater Cincinnati area did not get the 50 cents off Angel Soft TP as our previews had promised. This will happen at times...I did see a coupon for Sparkle paper towels (who also makes Angel Soft) so I'm assuming we got that one instead.

Sorry folks....I only go by what previews are given to me. If anyone did get the coupon, let me know. If you really want them...I'm sure you could go to www.coupondede.com and purchase some. She is reasonable and fast with her shipping!!!

Super Doubles at KMart all next week!!!! UPDATE!!!!!!

My friend Becky over at www.nickels-n-dimes.com tells me the stores here in the area are DEFINITELY doing Super Doubles!!!! Get those archived coupons out everyone!!!!! I would go on Sunday....saves the hassle of rainchecks...

Heather at Little Miss Know It All DOES know it all!!! She is clueing us in on the great sale next week at KMart.....follow her lead....she'll save you a ton!!! Check her out at http://www.littlemissknowitall.net/ Check out her story about KMart below...

I’m cautiously excited! Kmart Super Doubles return next week–and the Cincinnati/Northern KY areas are included this time! If you live in the Columbus area, call your local store–as some are even doing triples!
So, what exactly does this mean? Well, we aren’t exactly sure, not until the ads come out on Thursday. In the past Super Doubles has meant coupons up to $2 double–meaning a $1.50 coupon is worth $3, and a $2 coupon is worth $4. Anything over $2 is at face value. Overage is not allowed–meaning, if an item is $1.25, and the coupon is for .75, it will only double to $1.25.
In the past I’ve gotten cat food, dog food, shampoo, cleaning supplies and even some food items free. Its not a bonanza–but there are good deals to be had. Also, Kmart is rarely well stocked for these events, and they do not offer rainchecks. If you go, I suggest you go on Sunday.
So, 3…2….1….of to Ebay I go!

My coupon partner in crime comes through again for you!!! This might help ease the pain for some of us....thanks Lesley!!!!

For lots of us, tomorrow will hurt. We'll be scrambling to get our taxes out the door, wondering why we never have any stamps, or just waiting until the very last minute to stroke that check. But once the taxes are in the mail, we RedPlummers will be heading on over to Cinnabon and drowning our sorrows in a little thing we like to call tax day freebies. Your local Cinnabon's "Tax Day Bites," promotion includes free bite-sized cinnamon rolls from 5 to 8pm tomorrow evening (4/15). Sorry jet-setters, airport locations are exempt. Find a Cinnabon

Vote for Jason and Marci!!!!!!

My friend Heather over at Little Miss Know It All has some friends trying to win wedding photos. Please read the following and let's help Jason and Marci get their pics of that special day for free!!!

Fellow coupon blogger Marci (and sometimes contributor to this site!) is up as a finalist in a pretty big contest–to win free photography for her wedding! Marci’s recently engaged, and was surprised to find her chosen photographer was running a contest giving away her services for free to one lucky couple. Well, Marci and her fiance are now in the final three couples! Marci comments and emails great deals all the time, and I’m sure you’ve seen many of her contributions, maybe without knowing it. If you’ve been through a wedding, you know that quality photography is often one of the top three expenses!

Would you please take a sec and go vote for Jason and Marci? Its neck and neck between her and the next finalist. She could use all the votes she can get! And after voting, head over to her page for a giveaway she’s doing for people who vote! And one other note–you can vote once each day, so make sure to return again and again to help her out! (you get a new entry to her contest each time you vote too!) Right now there are only 600 votes–we have more than quadruple that here each day, so we can make this an easy slam dunk for Marci if you’ll take a few seconds and vote! Thanks guys!!!!

Go Marci! Go Marci!

I wanted to remind all of my couponers that there are NO inserts in this weekend's paper. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!!!

Don't forget...you can check out the coupon insert schedule for the year as well as preview the upcoming week's coupons. They usually have it up by Wednesday of each week. www.taylortownpreview.com

WalMart Coupon Policy

Below is a link to WalMart's coupon policy. I highly advise you to print this off and carry it with you in your coupon box, binder, whatever you have. You may need to pull it out and REMIND a cashier about their corporate rules and not the ones some individual locations try and make us go by. I have had it happen to me and was glad I had this with me.

Multiple coupon usage changing at Kroger

My coupon partner in crime visited a Kroger yesterday and has alerted me to changes coming (or already in place) to Kroger concerning usage of multiple coupons on same item....below is her email to me.

Had another run-in with ****** - the coupon Nazi at Kroger Latonia. Apparently, they have now instituted their own not-in-writing-anywhere-for-a-customer-to-see-or-know-about-it that they will only allow 5 identical coupons to be used. It was presented to me yesterday. I questioned where it was posted and she said they have it privately posted for employees to know but it is nowhere in the store for the customer to know. I then asked how she could enforce something she doesn't have posted and her response was to tell me they had been doing it for 2 months now and if I wanted to talk to Jeremy, the latest store manager, I could. I told her I would be e-mailing corporate again and called her by name so she knows I know her name now. I then went to the Service Desk to get copies of the new insert (since none are delivered out here) and she assumed I was there to complain and offered to get him for me. I just told her what I wanted and left. I did have them take off the additional items they were refusing to use coupons for and told her I would pick which ones they voided and then assured them my future business would all be at the Walton Marketplace who does not impose such unorthodox schemes on people who use coupons.

And, a friend of mine noticed that the new Kroger ad mentions NOWHERE that they tout their "UNLIMITED DOUBLE COUPONS EVERYDAY" policy anywhere. I checked mine and she's right - no mention of it at all - maybe this is the future of Kroger??? I know Meijer forced this same thing on me the other day for the $.75/2 Ortega coupons - they would only let me use 5 - also an unwritten policy there too.

Keep an eye out my coupon subjects...I will try to find a copy of the new policy and post it here.
